Sony, The Rootkit Of Evil!

I find it extremely funny that SONY BMG got themselves into this! I personally was one of the people hit by there XCP crap!
I personally hope it costs SONY BMG extensively. Even though I know they will pass the savings on to us.
As a member of the
EFF, I firmly believe they have no rights whatsoever to tamper with my computers or my digital listening devices.
If you feel this way as well. Please join the
EFF. Its a worth it for all of our sakes. I support the artists, not how the record companys try to rule us.

I, along with a large number of others, are asking you not to by Sony products.

Bypassing Beatport Territory Restriction
If you have been to beatport.com and found a song that you were wanting to buy only to get a
dreaded "Territory Restricted" Error. Then this is for you.

First a trip to my soapbox.

It is no secret that I find the major record companies to be a useless outdated relic of the past.
I find that it is utterly ridiculous that you can't buy a song that is available there, just because of where you live.
Things like Cuban cigars I understand but a song. its stupid! In this age of a global economy, the record industry just can't seem to adapt.
It is definitely time for them to become extinct!
They just don't want customer I guess and it really is the artist that is suffering!
You can't buy the track because of where one lives and its illegal to download it with Limewire or such.
So what do they want us to do? Hell they don't even know.

First of all I have no problem buying music, and in the case of Beatport, I have no problem paying far more than I do at iTunes, which I use as well, but restricting a purchase pushes one into 2 avenues.

1. Downloaded it for nothing, illegally
or
2. Forget about the song and move on.

Unfortunately for the record "companies" most move to option 1 and a few for option 2.
Both hurt the Artist and the "company" equally!

I offer option 3..

Buy or get an IP masking program like Hide My IP . It allows you to be anywhere in the world you need to be to purchase items from places like Beatport. It works, I did it and it worked great! Its stupid to have to resort to something like this but I like music and I want to pay for what I like!

This program / service allows an individual to purchase the music legally. The artist gets paid and that's what's important.
I could give a rats A$$ about who I bought it from or which "company or distributor" made the sell. F@#k them! The important issue is the consumer gets what is wanted and the artist gets compensated like they should.

I look at masking my IP as having a post office box wherever I need to be. So in a way I live there.
In the US one can have a post office box anywhere they want. an IP address is no different.

Oh BTW the IP masking works well for option 1 if no other avenue is available. But I plead with you to support the artist.
One day I hope Artists will figure out that they don't need a big company holding the doors for there content and that they can create it, record it, mix and edit it and even distribute it themselves putting more money in there pockets, not in some bunch of A$$holes pockets!

And for any would be record company that might think I'm an illegal music thief. just come after me!
I have purchased, since CD's became available in the early 80's, well over 1000 store bought CD's to date.
I have bought at least a hundred full CD's (albums) from iTunes, Beatport and other such services to date.
not to mention the huge number of single songs purchased. I have converted this collection into a MP3 collection that has 25,575 songs equaling 83.2 GB (89,412,874,104 bytes) worth of data in 2175 folder (Albums) spanning almost every type of music me and my family likes.
So you can see, I'm a major customer that your inconveniencing and pissing off! I would love to make a media circus of it.
