The RIO
VOLT was a great little unit! Unfortunately it was made by RIO, which went out of business and was bought out by someone. The player had a lot of good features. I bought one SP90 for me and another for my son for Christmas. My other son bought an SP250 which was Black and had a lot of other features. They all failed just within a year. And of course just when RIO was going under. The problem was with there Laser Pickup Assembly. (See picture below) |
|
| As you can
see, the ribbon that connected the Pickup to the player broke in to. What I found was that when the player was reading a track near the edge of the disk, It would put stress on the ribbon. Eventually this stress and the flexing would brake the ribbon. This happened to all 3 of the players without exception. This of course rendered the player useless. |

I tried to
find the parts for this with no luck. I'm offering a reward of $50 bucks to anyone that can find me a replacement for these out- side of RIO. I will never do business with Rio or any company that now owns them for more reasons than I will divulge here. |
